LOWER THE COST OF DIESEL
Diesel costs too much. And when diesel costs more, everything costs more.
Diesel fuels the tractors that grow our food, the trucks that deliver it, and the equipment that builds our homes. When farmers, truckers and builders pay more for diesel, Canadian families pay more too.
Canada has the fourth-largest oil reserves in the world. So why are Canadians paying so much to fuel their trucks, tractors and equipment?
For 11 years, Liberal taxes and red tape have held back Canadian energy projects. Instead of producing more Canadian fuel, we rely too much on foreign oil and fuel.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Conservatives are calling for an Emergency Fuel Relief Plan to lower the cost of diesel now and produce more Canadian fuel here at home.
The plan would cut federal taxes on diesel, make it easier to build refineries and fuel infrastructure, and help get more Canadian diesel to Canadians.
Conservatives are calling for:
-
No federal tax on diesel sales until at least July 1, 2027;
-
No federal taxes that drive up the cost of producing diesel;
-
Faster approvals for new refineries, fuel storage and pipelines; and
-
A strategic fuel reserve to protect Canadians when global supply is disrupted.
Canada has the resources we need. We should be using Canadian oil to make Canadian fuel for Canadian workers and families.
I want to hear from you.
