KYLE SEEBACK, M.P. CALLS ON COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT ALTON LEGION AT CRITICAL TIME

Kyle Seeback, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, has called on the community to support the Alton Legion in response to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the service club’s ability to fundraise.

“The COVID-19 outbreak has hit the Alton Legion particularly hard and they need the community’s support during this difficult time,” said Mr. Seeback. “They went through a big renovation to make it more beautiful and accessible and they’ve lost almost all of their revenue as a result of COVID-19 and the cancellation of summer bookings.” Mr. Seeback went on to state, “This is the last remaining legion in Caledon and they need our help now.” The Alton Legion is actively involved in the community by participating in community events and by hosting the annual Remembrance Day Service in Alton. Its banquet facility has also served as a popular and important local venue for gatherings and special events. The revenue generated from the bookings of these events has allowed the Alton Legion to keep its doors open while continuing to perform its invaluable community service work.

“In response to virtually all revenue being lost through the cancellation of summer bookings due to the pandemic, we’ve started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise essential funds for the Alton Legion at this critical time,” said Mr. Seeback. “We need to come together as a community to show our respect to our Veterans and to support the Legion during this difficult time. Let’s get it done.”
