Targeting law-abiding hunters and their legitimately owned hunting rifles will do nothing to reduce violent crime across Canada. In fact, violent crime has increased 32% in the past year and gang related killings have gone up 92% since Justin Trudeau took office. Over 80% of gun crimes committed in Canada use guns smuggled across the border from the U.S.

 

Instead of targeting criminals committing crimes, the Liberals have made it easier for criminals by passing easy bail legislation in 2019 and removing mandatory jail time for serious violent crimes. They’ve also failed to stop the flow of illegal guns across the US border.

 

We need common-sense firearms policies that keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Conservatives will continue opposing these amendments, standing up for millions of Canadian hunters impacted by the Liberals’ sneaky gun ban.​
