Liberals Approve Shaw-Rogers Merger!

Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government have given the green light to Rogers' acquisition of Shaw.

The merger, valued at $20 billion, received the final sign-off by the Trudeau Liberal government. It’s a bad deal for Canadians, and Dufferin-Caledon, by strengthening the telecoms’ monopoly.

This deal will not increase competition, despite the Liberals’ conditions, and instead, will leave Canadians with fewer choices, poorer service, and bigger bills.

The Trudeau Liberal government will never bring home competition and affordable cellphone rates. After eight years of Justin Trudeau, Canadians are paying the highest cellphone bills in the world. This is a direct result of his failure to promote competition in our wireless marketplace.

Conservatives know that more competition creates more innovation, allows more companies to compete, and that innovation and competition leads to lower prices and better service for consumers. The only way to reduce cellphone fees for 35 million Canadians is through a wireless market with real competition.
